Molecular Devices, LLC Cookie Notice

Effective Date February 10, 2026 (last updated February 10, 2026)
Version Number: 2.0

ABOUT THIS POLICY

When you visit a  Molecular Devices, LLC website or mobile applications, or use our cloud-based services (collectively "Sites"), we may use one or more tracking tools such as cookies, tags, web beacons or pixels (collectively "Cookies"). This Cookie Notice ("Notice") is meant to provide you with a basic introduction to these tracking tools, explain how we use them, and provide you with different ways to manage your interaction with them. You may access and change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking here Cookies Settings.

"Personal Data" is any information that can be used to identify, directly or indirectly, an individual or that can be reasonably expected to link to an individual.   This can include items such as name, address, telephone number, email address, ID number, or online identifier.

UNDERSTANDING COOKIES AND WHY WE HAVE THEM

Cookies are small data files stored on your internet-enabled device, such as your computer or your phone, and are now standard for most Sites. While you are visiting a Site, cookies allow the Site to store certain types of information about you that the Site uses in your browser/mobile app. When you come back to that same Site later, the information stored by cookies in your Site is sent back to the said Site. Cookies are widely used to make Sites function, help Sites work more efficiently, and provide the Sites' owner with information about how the Site is used.  They do many different jobs, such as letting you navigate between pages, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your user experience.

Cookies may collect Personal Data (which, in some jurisdictions, could include your internet protocol (IP) address). For more information on how we process your Personal Data, review our Privacy Notice.

There are two general categories of cookies based on the relationship between the cookie owner and the website the cookie is on.

  • First Party Cookies: Cookies placed by the owner of the website that you are visiting and served by that same website.
  • Third Party Cookies: Cookies placed by someone other than the website owner, typically at the request of the website owner. This may occur when the part of the Site you are visiting makes use of a third party analytics or marketing automation/management tool or includes content displayed from a third party website, for example, YouTube or Facebook. You should review the privacy and cookie policies of these services to find out how these third parties use cookies and whether your cookie data will be transferred to a third country. A list of the third parties who place cookies on the Site can be found here Cookies Settings.

Additionally, there are a variety of types of cookies. Generally, cookies can be grouped into five types for most websites:

  • Necessary Cookies: These are essential for the provision of the Site and any requested services and do not perform any additional or secondary function. For these cookies, we do not ask for your consent, but we do inform you about their presence on our Sites. We use certain cookies that are considered "strictly necessary" for the regular operation and security of our Sites as well as for the provision of the services and products you request.
  • Performance Cookies: These provide statistical information and analytics on site usage. They help us improve or optimise the experience we provide. They allow us to measure how visitors interact with our Sites and we use this information to improve the user experience and performance of the Sites. These cookies are used to collect technical information such as the last visited Site, the number of pages visited, whether or not email communications are opened, which parts of our website or email communication are clicked on and the length of time between clicks.
  • Functionality Cookies : These provide enhanced functionality and personalization, such as videos and live chat. They may be set by the Site or by third party providers whose services we have added to our Sites. If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all the enhanced functions may not work properly. For example, these cookies collect information about your interaction with services provided on the Site and may be used on our Site to remember your preferences (such as your language preference), your interests and the presentation of the website (such as the font size).
  • Advertising / Targeting Cookies: These are used to personalize content to you and to provide advertising to you on our Sites or on other websites you visit. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advert as well as help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign.  They can also be used to create profiles. These are often set by third parties.
We also share this data with our partners, along with the personal data you provide directly to us (such as your email address, name, or phone number). Our partners compare this information with their own databases and, where a match is found, combine it with details about the ads you have seen on other websites and your activity on our Sites. This helps us measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.
  • Social Media Cookies : These cookies allow the sharing of content on social media channels, such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. These cookies collect information about your social media interaction with the Site such as whether or not you have an account with the social media site and whether you are logged into it when you interact with content on the Site. This information may be linked to targeting/advertising activities.

We use the Meta Pixel (Pixel), provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Meta), on our Sites. We and Meta are joint controllers for the data collected through the Pixel. Meta is responsible for facilitating data subject rights under Articles 15-20 of the GDPR, and we are responsible for providing you with information about the joint processing under Articles 13 and 14 GDPR. Further information, including how Meta enables you to exercise your data protection rights, and subsequently processes your information as an independent data controller can be found in their Privacy Notice: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy. We use the Pixel to measure ad performance and personalize your experience on our Sites and Meta's platforms. You can manage your consent for the use of the Meta Pixel at any time through our website's cookie settings.

Finally, the cookie duration or length of time a cookie is enabled on your device falls into two categories:

  • Session Cookies: These exist only while your browser is open. These are deleted automatically once you close your browser.
  • Permanent Cookies: These persist after your browser is closed. They can be used by the website to recognize your computer when you browse the Internet at another time  unless you take steps to delete them.

Web Beacons, also known as tracking pixels, are small transparent images used to improve the experience on the Sites and to help us better understand the effectiveness of our content and advertisements as well as the interests of our visitors. Web beacons do not place information on your device but may work in conjunction with cookies to monitor activity. You have the option to render some Web Beacons unusable by rejecting their associated cookies. The Web Beacon may still record an anonymous visit from your IP address, but cookie information will not be recorded. We and our third-party partners may also use session replay technologies to record and better understand users' interactions with the Sites. These replays may include interactions such as users' clicks, mobile app touches, mouse movements, scrolls and keystrokes/key touches during those sessions.
